Lasik Eye Surgery

LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a surgical procedure that involves reshaping the cornea to improve vision and reduce a patient’s dependency on glasses or contact lenses. When performing LASIK eye surgery, we first place numbing drops in a patient’s eye and create a thin flap in the cornea. We then lift the flap and use an excimer laser to remove tissue and permanently alter the shape of the cornea. Finally, the flap is laid back in place where it heals almost instantly. Many patients notice improvements in their vision right away.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery today is typically performed using a microincisional procedure. To the patient, this means minimal discomfort during or after surgery, a more speedy recovery of vision, and reduced risk of induced astigmatism. This means less dependence on glasses afterwards. The great majority of patients may resume normal activities on the day of or day after surgery. Activities such as reading, watching television, and light work will not hurt the operated eye.

Glaucoma Surgery

Glaucoma can affect people of all ages. The type of glaucoma surgery required will vary depending upon the type of glaucoma and also depending upon whether the patient is a child or an adult. Most people who have this procedure no longer need medicine after surgery
