About Us

Dr. Phillips is a graduate of Cornell University and SUNY-Stonybrook College of Medicine. After medical school, he completed an internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and his residency at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology, with the esteemed Dr. Arthur H. Wolintz, former Department Chair and Distinguished Professor of Ophthalmology at SUNY-Downstate.

Dr. Phillips became renown as a trailblazer in SUNY-Downstate's Brooklyn community for pioneering the Department of Ophthalmology’s offering of the no-stitch/no needle technique and multi-focal lens options to his cataract and presbyopic patients, {including the new multifocal and accommodating Intra Ocular (premium) Lens options}. For over ten years in Dr. Phillips’ talented hands, this option continues to successfully offer patients the possibility of seeing well at varying distances without the use of spectacles or contacts. The no-stitch cataract surgery enables the eye to heal fast, thereby reduces recovery time significantly, and allowing most patients to return to work or sports within days instead of weeks or months, as was common with older surgery methods.

Dr. Phillips has maintained a laser vision correction (LASIK), refractive (MULTIFOCAL, CATARACT), surgical and medical ophthalmology practice in Somerset, NJ for the past 10 years, where he is among the distinguished ophthalmology physician staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
